  • We have successfully concluded the Alpine Europe Summer School: Innovation in the Circular Economy 2026

    The summer school provided participants with a unique opportunity for learning, collaboration, and cultural exchange through expert-led site visits, hands-on workshops, and international networking. Participants were mentored by Dr. Andreja Kutnar, Head of Department, and Dr. Mohammad Derikvand, researcher at the UP IAM InnoRenew CoE. Over the course of two weeks of intensive group learning and project work, students visited a range of UP partner companies, where they gained first-hand insight into each company’s contribution to the circular economy.     The convention brought together wood science researchers and industry professionals from around the world to discuss the latest advances in wood science, timber engineering, sustainable construction, bio-based materials, the circular economy, and innovation in the forest-based sector.   • IRIC2026 Conference to be hosted at UP IAM InnoRenew CoE

    The conference will cover a broad range of topics, including advanced manufacturing technologies, information processing, creativity and society, buildings, health, and materials. Contributions addressing other related themes are also welcome. IRIC2026 aims to foster the exchange of the latest scientific knowledge and innovations in renewable materials that contribute to improving quality of life in the built environment. In addition to scientific presentations, the programme will feature workshops on the responsible use of artificial intelligence and citizen science, as well as networking opportunities for participants.   • Alpine Europe: Innovation in the Circular Economy 2026 Summer School Begins

    The first day featured a guided tour of Ljubljana, where participants explored the city’s rich history, culture, and architecture. The tour was led by Dr Črtomir Tavzes, a researcher at UP IAM InnoRenew CoE, who introduced the group to Slovenia’s capital and its unique heritage. Participants were also accompanied by Dr Andreja Kutnar, Head of the Department, and Dr Mohammad Derikvand.
