The aim is to use mathematical models and optimisation algorithms for addressing crises that spread across economic, social and technological networks, with a focus on reducing negative impacts. The project will analyse the propagation of cost transfers, payment delays and bankruptcies in economic networks and develop efficient algorithms to mitigate their propagation. These models will be applied to study the propagation of negative effects not only in economic networks, but also in other social and technological networks. Expected results include new algorithms to explore network structures, new metrics to describe the hierarchical organisation of networks, and optimisation models and simulation environments for intervention design
